30 Minute Art Challenge
Not long ago, I saw a video about how aimed to draw a bit faster and a bit more loosely by timing himself for thirty minutes. You can watch the youtube video here. But in short, he talked about how it stopped him from overthinking and prioritizing what's important. So I decided to give it a shot a couple times. At around the third time I started making some rules for it. I also made a list of prompts so I don't wonder what to draw for most of the time. If I look back at the list again and don't like what I see or I feel like it's vague, I'll just change it. The rules are pretty simple. Once the timer hits thirty minutes, hands off. I can work on it later if I want to, but I have to put the current result, finished or not, on this website. Not all of them are going to look good, but them's the rules.
My hope is that as I go along with this challenge, that I'll be a bit looser in drawing and trust my gut a bit more. So far, the start's been a bit rough and arguably some can be considered a failure. All I can do is learn from it and do better next time. With that aside, let's see how things can go.
After the completion of this self-inflicted challenge, I decided to add a little gallery of artworks that I chose to work on after the timer went off. You can see it at the bottom of the list. While there's only a handful there, I do recommend you check it out after looking through the whole list. Or you could just ignore my suggestion and check it out now. I'm not your dad.
